How many times do you think about something you don’t feel like doing ? and how many times are you stopped from taking action because of one of more distractions side – track you into doing something that seams more important at the time ? What’s the primary reason ? does your concern about weather or not the result or outcome end up exactly the way you want it to turn out ? Mark says do it anyway… you will be remembered just for committing to the idea that Integrity manifested thru Action is one of the most powerful displays of your Personal Authenticity, and it will stay locked in the mind of another person as a representation of -
“someone who will be remembered”.
If life is worth living.. then we might as well do and share things everyday which provide some kind of value to lift or inspire or encourage others…and we should record that which we live…
“I never had a policy; i have just tried to do my very best
each and every day.”
~ Abraham Lincoln ( 1809-1865 ), 16th President of the United States
We just never know what a casual smile might do for someone who feels like they’re day has been totally un-productive. They wake up at the beginning of their day and there’s no hot water in their home… now their energy begins to fill with frustration.. which leads to loss of focus.. which transforms their would-be smooth flowing day filled with tasks, projects and productive connections with people of value … to that of wasted time and energy with the attention given to whats’ going wrong in the day.
Its a “snowball” of negative energy racing down a mountain that won’t stop until its stopped by an unexpected giant tree waiting to split it into two pieces.
So you promised someone you were going to meet them for agreed upon date and time.. or you had a commitment to help someone who needed your assistance with something you have more knowledge or experience with.. and at the last minute.. the person you were supposed to help says something to you like: “its ok.. i changed my mind i’ll just do it myself” or
“i’m not sure” or “i’m not ready yet”. the truth is.. that if they weren’t ready to do the thing they committed to in the first place.. the subject wouldn’t have been brought up to begin with. Sometimes its up to you to help them by taking some small action on YOUR part.. because their confidence or self-esteem may be lacking. Just do your part.. that which you committed to in the first place.. ( its called “following thru” ) and then leave “it’ and “them” alone. Trust me… in the end.. you will be remembered for someone who can be trusted and counted on because you weren’t easily diverted from your focus.. you stayed the course in spite of emotional distractions.
“Half the promises people say were never kept, were never made.”
~ Edgar Watson Howe ( 1853-1937 ), American Novelist, News/ Magazine editor
its still me – Mark talking.. and i don’t know about you folks…but if i am to be remembered.. i would rather be remembered by the commitments that i keep.. as apposed to someone who has a “flakey” mindset who can’t make a decision and stick with it.
